Declarations:
Portugal declared war against Central Powers and officially joined Allied Powers.
Persia declared war against Central Powers and officially joined Allied Powers.
Japan and Germany signed peace agreement. Marshall islands and Kasier Wilhelm Land remain in Japanese possesion.
Italy bombed Wienna. Several thousands of casualties claimed. Austria-Hungary protested against such uncivilised and terroristic act.
Ottoman Empire captured Suez.
Russian marxist Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov Lenin gathers workers to stop the war.
Moderators note: Rebellions automatically incorporate all national territories they take, but in first 6 turns can claim only 50% of resources (rounded up per province). Damage done by rebellion is already too high, and in that way they are half way between reincorporation and incorporation.
And many other things. However, I found these excerpts from various
newspapers published throughout the world:

Air battle over Trieste!
Air battle above Trieste gradually intensify. Our first ace, Oswald Boelcke, led our most succesfull fighter group, Jasta 6, against French and Italian aircrafts that desperately attempt to help ground troops in their effort to conquer Trieste. In last two months Oswald Boelcke remained as our best ace with 14th new victories but even that was not enough to lower intensity of Allied Forces attacks. It is expected that the situation will change when we deploy units from Eastern front to this area… |

In English channel we sunk three British transport ships with 2 troop ships that tried to transfer troops to France and in Mediterranean we sunk 4 troop ships near Tobruk. These victories will significantly lower Anglo-French morale as both of these victories are considered as easy… |
Battle at Alsace-Lorraine!
Although the focus of military operations is on the East, Western army group continuously keeps our ancient enemies at their feet. General opinion is that it is not yet the time for decisive battle here, but individual smaller offensives could sometimes give greater gains than expected. However, this is not the case with current offensive which is cancelled after 2 days due to heavy French resistance. Minor casualties are reported, mostly of 33rd division that tried to break near Metz, but it is expected that French loses are high… |
| Operation Sledge-hammer started! Minsk conquered!
After almost a year of defensive in East Front, general Luddendorff asked that 4th, 5th and 11th joins in new army group and together advance through open fields from Grodno toward Minsk. At June 6th they started advance and operation Sledge-hammer commenced. But not all things started as we hoped for because Russians attacked advancing columns from Minsk and Brest-Litovsk direction. Small part (4 divisions) therefore answered on new threat and repulsed Russian divisions approaching from the south, while greater part deployed against eastern part of Russian armies. In battle in which more then 4000 artillery pieces fought almost equivalent Russian formation, our artillery cleared the path for 1st tank division and for foot parts of 4th and 5th army which succesfully obliterated Russian defensive positions. In this battle more then 1500 guns are captured and Russian casualties are greater then in any battle until today, while our losses were high, too. Final victory is still too far, but we can see it from more brighter perspective, right now… |

Our capital, Wienna, is attacked by heavy bombers and ruined. It is claimed that there are more then 15000 civilian casaulties. All residental parts of Wienna took at least one hit, but our factories remained intact, so this attack was intened only to bring destruction to civilians. Attack on Algeria failed!
After series of succesfull fightings against Frenches in Atlas mountains, South army suddenly withdrew about 200 kilometers to resupply. "Because of our surprising success and quick advancement, we were unable to deliver proper quantity of army supply to units on the front, thus our effort to reach Algeria failed when it shouldn’t", said general Delgado. In fightings on Atlas, at least 42nd and 354th colonial divisions are destroyed, but it is to expect that some parts of elite 16th Marmont division are lost, too. That is serious problem for French colonial army and we expect… |
| Rio de Oro lost!
It was expected that after our approach to Central Powers camp France would attempt to take our overseas holdings. Thus, garrison of Rio de Oro prepared for forthcoming assault more then week before it started. Our navy, too, prepared to get there as soon as possible, but it was a hard task to avoid any conflict with both British and French navy and to come in time to reinforce garrison or to evacuate them. However, Rio de Oro is lost, but good news come from our navy. It was noted that they intercepted lightly escorted British liner with more then 7 tons of gold in her hatches. | Offensive on Ruhr abandoned!
Our new offensive on Ruhr had to be cancelled due to heavy resistance of German defenders. General Joffre considered that attack very risky, and he ordered that the offensive must be abandoned if enemy units react before we cross first and second line of trenches with our spearheads 44th and 137th divisions. We failed in this effort, but we suffered only minor casualties. On German side, it is believed that they suffered heavy losses, mostly due to our artillery bombardments… |
Air battle over Trieste!
Our first air army fought heavy battle against German and Austro-Hungarian aircrafts during last few weeks. It was intended to keep Central Powers aircrafts busy while our land units approach Trieste and it partly succeeded in it. But heavy overcast during last two weeks forced our aircrafts most of time to remain on the ground. Individual fightings occured, however. The most famous air battle was at 14th June when our aircrafts escorted Italian bombers on their raid on Wienna. With heavy fightings for Gibraltar and loss of control over Suez Canal, it is clear that Central Powers intend to force us to spend more time to deliver troops on fronts. June 14th - the day which the Austrians will remember as the eve of their destruction, the day when Austria’s war industry is halved.
