STARFLEET MEDICAL

Welcome to the Medical Corps Headquarters. Located at Starfleet HQ, the Medical Corps operates, via the Admiralty, Head of Medical Services, Chief Medical Officer and other fellow Medical personnel and with the Fleet as a whole regarding all medical matters and/or issues.

Starfleet Medical is charged with the responsibility for providing for the health and well being of all Apollo Fleet personnel and their families. It provides medical services to the Federation Ambassadors and Diplomats, and aids Starfleet in caring for all members of the Federation Council.

Starfleet Fleet Medical is responsible for all medical research conducted by the branch fleet, and maintains numerous laboratories on different planets around the Federation to keep abreast of all medical developments. These laboratories also undertake research into xenobiology, (to develop new treatments which work on life forms which are not average). While Starfleet Fleet Medical is a division of Starfleet it is jointly administered by the Federation Medical Council which is ultimately responsible for the approval of new treatments.

As the galaxy opens up to new civilisation and new life, Starfleet Fleet Sciences finds itself with more information that one agency can digest. A branch of Starfleet Fleet Sciences has been created to examine, sort and disperse all the information gathered concerning races, medicines, and other medical research. That branch, Starfleet Medical Corps, will continue to fulfil its duties as Starfleet continues to fulfil its mission
