| History | James was born to Allen and Katrina Dyson on November 8th. James was the eldest of three children, and spent most of his time taking care of his two sisters. What time James was with his father was spent traveling from Tycho City to Utopia Planitia Mars. Allen Dyson was a construction engineer, who worked on the Galaxy and Akira Classes. Allen would bring James to watch the starships being designed and built. His experiences on Mars led James to seek a career in Starfleet. Though, James was not a great student his grades were good enough for him to be accepted into the Academy on his first try. At the Academy James flourished under the academic pressure and choose operations management as his major. James became very popular at the Academy. He made friends easily and was considered the life of the party, although he was allergic to alcohol. James was considered by most of the cadets as a big brother figure, someone to go to if you had problems with life or with classes. James exceptional performance at the Academy allowed him to graduate a full year early. James first assignment was as the Assistant Chief Operations Officer on the USS Agamemnon. James spent most of his time on the Agamemnon studying the various systems of the ship and getting to know the other officers in his department. James spent many nights playing poker with the senior officers in the ops department and quickly became famous for his ability to bluff even a Betazoid. James life on the Agamemnon was changed when the Klingon Civil War broke out. The Agamemnon was patrolling near the Klingon boarder when she intercepted a distress signal from a Klingon colony. The Agamemnon raced the scene and found four Birds of Prey attacking the colony's orbital defense platform. The Agamemnon engaged the attacking ships, during the forty-minute battle the Agamemnon managed to destroy two of the attackers and disabled a third. However the victory was a bitter one. Half the crew of the Agamemnon was killed and the ship was severely damaged. At the beginning of the battle Lt. Commander Alexander, the ships Chief Ops Officer, was killed when his console exploded. James managed to reroute control to another console and was able to keep the shield and weapons online. For his actions James was awarded a medal for Meritorious Service, and was promoted to Lt. Commander. James' next assignment was on the USS Bellerephon as Chief Ops. Officer and as Second Officer. James spent the first three years aboard the Bellerephon getting adjusted to his new responsibilities and to the job of commanding a starship even if it was only one shift a day. James enjoyed the prospect that had been presented to him. The command of a starship had not occurred to James before his promotion, but now it excited him. James signed up for command classes and began volunteering for more away missions. In 2372 James met Ens. Jasmine Robertson, a young counselor who was recently assigned to the Bellerephon. James fell deeply in love with Jasmine, but due to Starfleet regulations they had to keep their relationship a secret from the crew. The situation was made difficult when Jasmine was transferred off the Bellerephon at the outbreak of the Dominion War. The Bellerephon was placed on the front line of the war. The Akira class starship fared well against the Cardassian/Dominion forces, taking part in many of the wars more crucial battles. During the battle to retake DS9, the Captain of the Bellerephon was killed during when a group of Jem'Hadar boarded the ship and attacked the bridge crew. Commander Dreyfus and James were able to retake the bridge and the ship. For his actions James was once again award the Meritorious Service Medal. James was then promoted to the rank of Commander and made the First Officer of the Bellerephon. James spent the rest of the war running 'hit and run' raids. The Bellerephon was one of the few ships not disabled at the second battle of Chin'toka, mainly due to the fact they arrived late. The ship rescued 4000 crewmen before pulling back to DS9. After the battle the Bellerephon was put back on the frontline, repelling Dominion raids and backing up Klingon assaults. The Bellerephon was destroyed during the last battle with the Dominion, though no hands were lost. After the war James was promoted again and assigned to the USS Isis. |

| Family | Allen and Katerina Dyson met at the Academy during their fourth year. The two were soon married a year later James was born. Allen and Katrina decided to settle in Tycho City and raise they're family. Allen accepted a position working at the fleet yards and Katrina signed up as a test pilot. Allen and Katrina had two more kids, Christy and Erin, before retiring from Starfleet. |
